Lena Maria Ludes

A 27-year-old German model living in Malta is making a statement about beauty and the female form, this, however, not through her modelling work or social media pages, but through original paintings that she has created for her first solo exhibition. Having obtained a degree in Fashion Design in Düsseldorf (Germany), Lena Maria Ludes has in the past focussed a lot of attention on draping the body, especially women, and the way clothes make women feel and be perceived. Being a model herself, however, she also very much aware of the implications of the need to be ‘perfect’. Thinking about how diverse the female body is has led Lena to explore the imperfections of humanity which were showcased in a series of paintings that were exhibited throughout the month of February in what was her first solo exhibition.
